Sony Sony Playstation 3 PS3 - 60GB Premium Video Game System US

Now that my second xbox 360 just died, I have to admit that this is the best next-gen console. It still has a way to go in terms of games, but the hardware is great - plus you get a Blu-ray player thrown in!

When it comes to gaming, this is the worst one of the next gens (Wii, Xbox 360, etc.), it has a horrible game library. However, with the recent price drop the PS3 has a light at the end of the tunnel.....espe­cially since it is the only gaming console that plays Blue-ray DVDs and many have found ways to installed Linux on this thing and turn it into a secondary PC . I would pay $400 for this thing but it will NOT replace my modded 360

A fantastic deal when considering it is both a blu-ray player (now the standard high-definition DVD format) and an exceptional gaming console.

This 60g version also is able to run playstation 2 games, which the 40gb can not, and the 80gb only partially supports. Unforunately, they discontinued this model, so if you really want that feature you are going to have to buy it from a 3rd party type vendor, through Amazon marketplace or ebay.
